Ingredients
- Chicken thighs: 500 grams, boneless and skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Soy sauce: 1/4 cup (60 ml).
- Mirin: 2 tablespoons (30 ml).
- Sake: 2 tablespoons (30 ml).
- Sugar: 1 tablespoon (15 grams).
- Green onions: 4, cut into 2-inch pieces.
- Sesame seeds: 1 tablespoon, toasted (for garnish).
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken by cutting it into bite-sized pieces.
- Make the marinade by combining soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar in a bowl.
- Marinate the chicken in half of the marinade for at least 30 minutes.
- Skewer the marinated chicken pieces with green onions.
- Grill the skewers on medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes on each side, brushing with reserved marinade.
- Serve the grilled yakitori chicken with toasted sesame seeds on top.
