Description

A rich white German chocolate cake with a creamy cheesecake center.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  5. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  6. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  7. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  8. In another bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, egg, and lemon juice until smooth.
  9. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pans.
  10. Spread the cheesecake mixture evenly over the batter.
  11. Top with remaining cake batter.
  12. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  13. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
  • Can be decorated with additional coconut and pecans.
