Description
A rich white German chocolate cake with a creamy cheesecake center.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- In another bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, egg, and lemon juice until smooth.
- Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pans.
- Spread the cheesecake mixture evenly over the batter.
- Top with remaining cake batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans.
Notes
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
- Can be decorated with additional coconut and pecans.
