Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 pre-made pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, combine milk, cream, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
  4. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and vanilla extract.
  5. Slowly add the hot mixture to the egg yolks, whisking continuously.
  6. Pour the custard back into the saucepan and cook for another minute.
  7. Pour custard into the pre-made pie crust.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes or until set.
  9. Let cool completely before slicing into squares.
