Ingredients

- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1 pre-made pie crust
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, combine milk, cream, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
- In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and vanilla extract.
- Slowly add the hot mixture to the egg yolks, whisking continuously.
- Pour the custard back into the saucepan and cook for another minute.
- Pour custard into the pre-made pie crust.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until set.
- Let cool completely before slicing into squares.
Notes
- Chill the custard in the refrigerator for a firmer texture.
- Top with whipped cream for extra flavor.
