Description

A delicious vanilla bean cake topped with creamy strawberry cream cheese frosting.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup strawberry puree
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time and mix well.
  5. Stir in the vanilla bean paste.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
  8. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  11. For the frosting, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  12. Add the strawberry puree and powdered sugar, mixing until combined.
  13. Once the cakes are cool, spread the frosting between the layers and on the top and sides of the cake.
