  • Black beans: Another can (15 oz or 425 g), drained and rinsed
  • Diced tomatoes: One can (28 oz or 800 g), with juice
  • Onion: One medium, chopped
  • Garlic: Three cloves, minced
  • Chili powder: Two tablespoons
  • Cumin: One tablespoon
  • Bell peppers: Two (any color), chopped
  • Salt and pepper: To taste
  • Olive oil: One tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients by chopping the onion and bell peppers, mincing the garlic, and rinsing the beans.
  2. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat, then sauté the onion and bell peppers for about five minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute, then add ground turkey, seasoning with salt, pepper, chili powder, and cumin. Cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the kidney beans, black beans, and diced tomatoes, mixing well.
  5. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low and let simmer for 20-30 minutes.
  6. Adjust seasoning if needed, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve warm.
