- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 4 cups stuffing mix
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon rosemary
- 1 tablespoon sage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 2 carrots, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the stuffing by mixing stuffing mix with broth, onion, celery, carrots, and seasonings.
- Loosely fill the turkey cavity with stuffing.
- Rub the turkey with softened butter, salt, and pepper.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan.
- Cover the turkey with aluminum foil.
- Roast for 2.5 to 3 hours, removing the foil in the last hour.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Make sure to thaw the turkey completely before cooking.
- Use a meat thermometer for accurate cooking.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
