Tres Leches Cake is a moist and sweet dessert soaked in three types of milk.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for whipping cream)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for whipping cream)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy.
  5. Add eggs and vanilla, beating well.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool completely.
  10. In a separate bowl, combine evaporated milk, condensed milk, and whole milk.
  11. Poke holes in the cooled cake and pour the milk mixture over it.
  12. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  13. Whip heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until thick.
  14. Spread whipped cream over the cake before serving.
