A simple recipe for Traeger smoked turkey perfect for Thanksgiving.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 tablespoons pepper
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 4 cups chicken broth
- Wood pellets (apple or hickory)
Instructions
- Preheat your Traeger grill to 225°F.
- Pat the turkey dry and rub olive oil all over.
- Season turkey with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, and rosemary.
- Place turkey on the grill grate and add wood pellets to the smoker box.
- Smoke turkey for about 4-6 hours or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- In the last hour, baste turkey with chicken broth every 20 minutes.
- Remove turkey from grill and let it rest for 30 minutes before carving.

- Use a meat thermometer for accuracy.
- Brine turkey overnight for extra flavor.
- Experiment with different wood pellets for unique flavors.
