Description
A traditional Greek dessert served during New Year celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 whole coin (for good luck)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
- Insert the coin into the batter.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes.
- Let it cool before serving.
Notes
- Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
