Description
A collection of traditional snacks served during the Chinese New Year.
Ingredients
- Glutinous rice flour – 2 cups
- Water – 1 cup
- Sugar – 1/2 cup
- Red bean paste – 1 cup
- Sesame seeds – 1/4 cup
- Peanuts – 1/4 cup
- Dried fruits – 1/2 cup
Instructions
- Mix glutinous rice flour, water, and sugar in a bowl.
- Stir until a smooth batter forms.
- Prepare a steamer and line it with parchment paper.
- Pour half of the batter into the steamer.
- Spread red bean paste evenly over the batter.
- Pour the remaining batter on top of the red bean paste.
- Steam for 30 minutes until cooked.
- Let cool and cut into pieces.
- Roll in sesame seeds and chopped peanuts.
- Serve with dried fruits on the side.
Notes
- Use a non-stick steamer for easier removal.
- Adjust sugar according to taste.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
