Description

A collection of traditional snacks served during the Chinese New Year.


Ingredients

  • Glutinous rice flour – 2 cups
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Red bean paste – 1 cup
  • Sesame seeds – 1/4 cup
  • Peanuts – 1/4 cup
  • Dried fruits – 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Mix glutinous rice flour, water, and sugar in a bowl.
  2. Stir until a smooth batter forms.
  3. Prepare a steamer and line it with parchment paper.
  4. Pour half of the batter into the steamer.
  5. Spread red bean paste evenly over the batter.
  6. Pour the remaining batter on top of the red bean paste.
  7. Steam for 30 minutes until cooked.
  8. Let cool and cut into pieces.
  9. Roll in sesame seeds and chopped peanuts.
  10. Serve with dried fruits on the side.

Notes

  • Use a non-stick steamer for easier removal.
  • Adjust sugar according to taste.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
