Description
Delicious thumbprint cookies topped with sweet icing.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup fruit jam (your choice)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the butter and sugar in a bowl.
- Add egg yolk and vanilla, mixing well.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until combined.
- Roll dough into balls and place on a baking sheet.
- Make an indentation in each ball with your thumb.
- Fill each indentation with fruit jam.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until edges are golden.
- Let cookies cool completely.
- Mix powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract for icing.
- Drizzle icing over cooled cookies.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- Use different jams for variety.
- Adjust icing thickness with more or less milk.
