Thumbprint cookies are sweet, buttery cookies with a jam-filled center.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup fruit jam or preserves
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until combined.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet.
- Make an indentation in the center of each ball with your thumb.
- Fill each indentation with jam.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
- Use any flavor of jam you like.
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes for easier handling.
