A simple recipe for thumbprint cookies filled with your favorite jam.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup jam or preserves
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
- Add the flour, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet.
- Make a small indentation in each ball with your thumb.
- Fill each indentation with jam.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Use any flavor of jam you like.
- Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
- For a variation, add nuts to the dough.
