Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 bell pepper, diced
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until onion is translucent.
- Stir in the bell pepper, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and beef broth. Mix well.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer for 30 minutes.
- Serve hot with your choice of toppings.
Notes
- Adjust spices to taste.
- For a spicier chili, add jalapeños.
- This chili can be made a day ahead for better flavor.
