Description
A classic Thanksgiving dish featuring sweet yams.
Ingredients

- 4 cups yams, peeled and cubed
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Boil yams in water until tender, about 15 minutes.
- Drain yams and place in a baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.
- Pour the mixture over the yams and mix well.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle marshmallows on top, and bake for an additional 10 minutes until marshmallows are golden.
Notes
- You can adjust the sugar to your taste.
- For a crunchy topping, add nuts before baking.
