  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry.
  3. Rub the turkey with butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary.
  4. Place the onion, carrots, and celery inside the turkey cavity.
  5. Place the turkey breast-side up on a roasting rack in a pan.
  6. Pour chicken broth into the pan.
  7. Roast the turkey for about 13-15 minutes per pound.
  8. Baste the turkey every 30 minutes.
  9. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.

  • Let the turkey come to room temperature before cooking.
