Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 4 cups bread cubes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon dried sage
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing giblets and patting it dry.
  3. Rub softened butter all over the turkey.
  4. In a pan, sauté onion and celery until soft.
  5. Combine bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  6. Stuff the turkey cavity with the bread mixture.
  7. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
  8. Cover with foil and roast for 3 hours.
  9. Remove the foil and roast for an additional hour until golden brown.
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
