- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups stuffing (your choice)
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 carrots, chopped
- 3 celery stalks, chopped
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 1 tablespoon dried sage
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
- Rub the softened butter all over the turkey.
- Season the turkey with salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary, and sage.
- Stuff the turkey with your choice of stuffing.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and add chopped onion, carrots, and celery around it.
- Pour chicken broth into the pan.
- Cover the turkey with foil and roast for 2.5 to 3 hours.
- Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.

- Letting the turkey rest enhances flavor.
