  • Carrots – 2, chopped
  • Chicken broth – 4 cups
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme) – 1/4 cup, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
  3. Rub the softened butter all over the turkey, then season with salt and pepper.
  4. In a large roasting pan, place the chopped onion, celery, and carrots.
  5. Put the turkey on top of the vegetables.
  6. Pour the chicken broth into the pan.
  7. Roast the turkey for 3-4 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  8. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
  9. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
