Description

A classic Thanksgiving pie made with pumpkin filling.


Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix pumpkin, sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and vanilla.
  3. Add eggs and mix well.
  4. Stir in evaporated milk until smooth.
  5. Pour filling into pie crust.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 40-50 minutes.
  7. Cool before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with whipped cream.
  • Can be made a day ahead.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
