  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey giblets and rinse the turkey inside and out.
  3. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
  4. Rub the softened butter all over the turkey.
  5. Season the turkey with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary.
  6. Place the onion, carrots, and celery inside the turkey cavity.
  7. Place the turkey on a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
  8. Roast the turkey for about 3 to 3.5 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  9. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.

  • Thaw the turkey in the refrigerator if frozen.
  • Use a meat thermometer for accurate cooking.
