A classic Southern Thanksgiving dressing made with cornbread and flavorful herbs.
Ingredients

- 4 cups cornbread, crumbled
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon sage
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 eggs, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add celery and onion; sauté until soft.
- In a large bowl, combine cornbread, sautéed vegetables, herbs, and spices.
- Pour in chicken broth and mix well.
- Add beaten eggs and stir until combined.
- Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Can be made a day ahead and baked before serving.
- For a vegetarian option, use vegetable broth.
