Description
A traditional Thanksgiving dinner featuring turkey and all the trimmings.

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 pounds)
- 4 cups stuffing
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 cup cranberry sauce
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 3 cups green beans
- 1 pumpkin pie
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and rinsing it under cold water.
- Stuff the turkey with stuffing and place it in a roasting pan.
- Brush the turkey with melted butter and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
- Cover the turkey with foil and roast for 3 hours.
- Remove the foil and roast for an additional hour until golden brown.
- Let the turkey rest for 30 minutes before carving.
- Prepare mashed potatoes and green beans.
- Serve the turkey with cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and green beans.
- Finish the meal with pumpkin pie for dessert.
Notes
- Make sure to thaw the turkey in advance.
- Use a meat thermometer to check turkey doneness (165°F).
- Feel free to modify the stuffing ingredients.
- Prepare side dishes while the turkey is roasting.
