A classic Thanksgiving dinner featuring turkey, sides, and dessert.

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon sage
- 1 tablespoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 cups green beans
- 1 cup cranberry sauce
- 1 pumpkin pie
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onion and celery until soft.
- Add bread crumbs, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper to the skillet.
- Stuff the turkey with the bread mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth over it.
- Roast the turkey for about 3 to 4 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Meanwhile, prepare mashed potatoes and green beans.
- Serve cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie as sides.
- Let the turkey rest before carving and serving.
Notes
- Brine the turkey overnight for extra flavor.
- Make the stuffing a day ahead for convenience.
- Use fresh herbs for better taste.
