A fun way to celebrate Thanksgiving through cookie decorating.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Royal icing for decoration
- Food coloring
- Sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
- Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Let cool completely before decorating.
- Prepare royal icing and divide into bowls for coloring.
- Decorate cookies with icing and sprinkles as desired.
Notes
- Use different cookie cutters for varied shapes.
- Allow cookies to dry completely before stacking.
- Store decorated cookies in an airtight container.
