Description
Thanksgiving apple pie is a classic dessert made with tart apples and a flaky crust.

- 6 cups sliced tart apples
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Place one pie crust in a pie pan.
- Fill the crust with the apple mixture.
- Dot the filling with butter.
- Cover with the second pie crust and seal the edges.
- Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape.
- Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F, then reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 35-45 minutes.
Notes
- Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for better flavor.
- Let the pie cool before serving.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
