Ingredients
- Ground beef: 1 lb (450 g)
- Tater tots: 1 bag (about 32 oz or 900 g, frozen)
- Cream of mushroom soup: 1 can (10.5 oz or 300 g)
- Shredded cheese: 2 cups (about 200 g)
- Onion: 1 medium, diced
- Garlic powder: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
- Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté diced onion until soft. Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, and cook until browned.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef and onion with cream of mushroom soup. Mix well and add any optional vegetables if desired.
- Spread the beef mixture in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded cheese, and layer the tater tots on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until tater tots are golden brown.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle with remaining cheese, and return to oven for an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted. Let cool before serving.

- Can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
