Description
Strawberry tanghulu is a popular Chinese snack consisting of skewered strawberries coated in hard candy.
Ingredients
- Fresh strawberries – 500g
- Sugar – 250g
- Water – 100ml
- Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
Instructions
- Wash and dry the strawberries.
- Insert skewers into each strawberry.
- In a saucepan, mix sugar, water, and lemon juice.
- Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Bring to a boil and cook until the mixture reaches 150°C (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and let it cool for a few seconds.
- Dip each skewer into the syrup, coating the strawberries.
- Place on parchment paper to cool and harden.
Notes
- Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
- Work quickly when coating to avoid the syrup hardening.
- Store in a cool, dry place.
