A hearty steak and sausage pie filled with rich flavors.


Ingredients

  • 500g beef steak, diced
  • 300g sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 500ml beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. In a pan, sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  3. Add beef steak and sausage. Cook until browned.
  4. Stir in carrots and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle flour and mix well.
  6. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  7. Simmer for 30 minutes until thickened.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a pie dish.
  9. Cover with puff pastry and seal edges.
  10. Brush with beaten egg.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Let the pie cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or a side salad.
