Ingredients

- 1 cup warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 egg, beaten
- Green food coloring
- Coarse sea salt for topping
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add sugar, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Knead until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Divide dough into small pieces and shape into pretzels.
- Boil water with baking soda. Dip pretzels for 30 seconds.
- Place pretzels on a baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and add food coloring.
- Sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- They taste best when fresh.
