- 3 ripe pears, sliced
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt butter in a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Add brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the melted butter and mix well.
- Arrange sliced pears over the sugar mixture in the pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat eggs and milk together.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour batter over the pears in the pan.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a plate.
Notes
- Serve warm with whipped cream.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- Can be made with other fruits like apples or peaches.
