Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a 9-inch round cake pan.
  3. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the melted butter and mix well.
  4. Arrange sliced pears over the sugar mixture in the pan.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. In another bowl, beat eggs and milk together.
  7. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  8. Pour batter over the pears in the pan.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a plate.
