Ingredients
- Turkey – 1 whole (12-14 lbs)
- Butter – 1 cup
- Salt – 2 tbsp
- Pepper – 1 tbsp
- Garlic powder – 1 tbsp
- Onion – 1, chopped
- Celery – 2 stalks, chopped
- Carrots – 2, chopped
- Chicken broth – 4 cups
- Stuffing mix – 1 box
- Green beans – 2 lbs
- Olive oil – 2 tbsp
- Cranberry sauce – 1 can
- Sweet potatoes – 4, peeled and cubed
- Marshmallows – 1 cup
- Pecan pie – 1
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by rubbing it with butter, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Stuff the turkey with a mixture of chopped onion, celery, and carrots.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
- Roast the turkey for about 3 hours, basting occasionally.
- In a separate pot, cook green beans in olive oil until tender.
- Boil sweet potatoes until soft, then mash and top with marshmallows.
- Prepare the stuffing according to the package instructions.
- Serve turkey with stuffing, green beans, sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce.
- Finish the meal with a slice of pecan pie.
Notes
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- Use leftover turkey for sandwiches.
