Ingredients

- 1 cup grits
- 4 cups water
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1/2 cup onion, diced
- 1/2 cup bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a pot.
- Stir in grits and reduce heat to low.
- Cook grits for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a skillet, cook bacon until crispy.
- Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened.
- Add shrimp, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Cook until shrimp are pink.
- Stir butter into grits until creamy.
- Serve shrimp mixture over grits and garnish with green onions.

- Adjust spices to your preference.
- For creamier grits, add more butter or cheese.
- Can substitute bacon with turkey bacon for a lighter option.
