Description
A traditional soul food Thanksgiving dinner featuring classic dishes.
Ingredients
- Turkey – 1 whole (12-14 lbs)
- Collard greens – 2 lbs
- Macaroni and cheese – 8 cups
- Cornbread – 2 pans
- Candied yams – 5 medium
- Stuffing – 1 box
- Gravy – 2 cups
- Cranberry sauce – 1 can
- Green beans – 1 lb
- Pecan pie – 1
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Prepare the turkey by seasoning it and placing it in a roasting pan.
- Roast the turkey for about 3 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
- While the turkey cooks, prepare collard greens in a pot with water and seasoning.
- Cook macaroni and cheese according to the package instructions.
- Make cornbread according to the recipe.
- Peel and slice the yams, then cook them with sugar and spices until tender.
- Prepare stuffing according to package instructions and bake.
- Cook green beans in boiling water until tender.
- Serve everything with gravy and cranberry sauce, and finish with pecan pie for dessert.
