A delicious smoked turkey recipe perfect for Thanksgiving.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2 cups apple wood chips
Instructions
- Thaw the turkey in the refrigerator for 1-2 days.
- Preheat your smoker to 225°F.
- Pat the turkey dry and rub it with olive oil.
- Mix the spices and rub them all over the turkey.
- Soak the apple wood chips in water for 30 minutes.
- Place the turkey in the smoker and add the wood chips.
- Smoke the turkey for about 30 minutes per pound or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Remove the turkey from the smoker and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Brining the turkey overnight can enhance flavor.
- Use a meat thermometer to check the temperature.
- Letting the turkey rest improves juiciness.
