Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 cups apple wood chips

Instructions

  1. Thaw the turkey in the refrigerator for 1-2 days.
  2. Preheat your smoker to 225°F.
  3. Pat the turkey dry and rub it with olive oil.
  4. Mix the spices and rub them all over the turkey.
  5. Soak the apple wood chips in water for 30 minutes.
  6. Place the turkey in the smoker and add the wood chips.
  7. Smoke the turkey for about 30 minutes per pound or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. Remove the turkey from the smoker and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
