Description

Smoked shotgun shells are a flavorful and unique dish made with pasta shells stuffed with a savory mixture and smoked to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 12 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions. Drain and cool.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Mix in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a bowl, combine cooked beef, ricotta, mozzarella, and half of the Parmesan.
  5. Stuff each pasta shell with the meat and cheese mixture.
  6. Place the stuffed shells in a smoker set to 225°F for 1 hour.
  7. After 1 hour, drizzle marinara sauce over the shells and sprinkle with remaining Parmesan.
  8. Smoke for an additional 30 minutes.

Notes

  • Adjust smoking time for desired smokiness.
  • Feel free to substitute ground beef with ground turkey or sausage.
  • Serve with extra marinara sauce on the side.
