Description

Slow cooker Dr Pepper pulled pork is a flavorful and tender dish made with pork shoulder and Dr Pepper soda.


Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 can Dr Pepper
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced onion and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Rub the pork shoulder with chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the pork on top of the onions and garlic in the slow cooker.
  4. Pour the Dr Pepper over the pork.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender.
  6. Remove the pork and shred it with two forks.
  7. Mix the shredded pork with barbecue sauce.
  8. Serve on buns, if desired.
