Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar

  • Icing sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
  4. Add egg and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  6. Add milk as needed to soften the dough.
  7. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thick.
  8. Cut into shapes using cookie cutters.
  9. Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets.
  10. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
  11. Cool cookies before decorating with icing and sprinkles.
