Description

Salted Caramel Stuffed Cookies are a delightful blend of sweet and salty flavors, featuring a gooey caramel center that melts in your mouth.

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 2 ½ cups (320 g)
  • Brown sugar: 1 cup (220 g), packed
  • Granulated sugar: ½ cup (100 g)
  • Unsalted butter: 1 cup (226 g), softened
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Vanilla extract: 2 teaspoons
  • Baking soda: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: ½ teaspoon
  • Chocolate chips: 1 cup (170 g)
  • Caramel candies: 20 pieces (about 200 g), unwrapped
  • Sea salt: for sprinkling on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Take a small piece of cookie dough, flatten it, place a caramel candy in the center, and wrap the dough around it to form a ball.
  6. Place the caramel-filled dough balls on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked.
  8. Sprinkle sea salt on top of each cookie immediately after removing from the oven.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Overmixing the dough can lead to tough cookies.
  • Measure ingredients accurately for best results.
  • Use softened butter for better creaming with sugars.
  • Chill the dough if it feels too soft before baking.
  • Always preheat the oven for even baking.
  • Allow cookies to cool before transferring to prevent breakage.
