Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 2 ½ cups (320 g)
- Brown sugar: 1 cup (220 g), packed
- Granulated sugar: ½ cup (100 g)
- Unsalted butter: 1 cup (226 g), softened
- Eggs: 2 large
- Vanilla extract: 2 teaspoons
- Baking soda: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: ½ teaspoon
- Chocolate chips: 1 cup (170 g)
- Caramel candies: 20 pieces (about 200 g), unwrapped
- Sea salt: for sprinkling on top
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Take a small piece of cookie dough, flatten it, place a caramel candy in the center, and wrap the dough around it to form a ball.
- Place the caramel-filled dough balls on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked.
- Sprinkle sea salt on top of each cookie immediately after removing from the oven.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Overmixing the dough can lead to tough cookies.
- Measure ingredients accurately for best results.
- Use softened butter for better creaming with sugars.
- Chill the dough if it feels too soft before baking.
- Always preheat the oven for even baking.
- Allow cookies to cool before transferring to prevent breakage.
