- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar.
- Add flour and salt, mixing until combined.
- Press mixture into a greased baking pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden.
- In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring until boiling.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Pour caramel over the baked shortbread base.
- Sprinkle sea salt on top.
- Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
