Description

Salisbury steak with mushroom gravy is a hearty dish made from ground beef patties served with a rich mushroom sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into patties.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Cook the patties until browned on both sides. Remove from skillet.
  4. Add mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until soft.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir.
  6. Slowly add beef broth while stirring until the sauce thickens.
  7. Return patties to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for 10 minutes.
  8. Serve warm with gravy over the patties.

Notes

  • Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
