Description
Salisbury steak with mushroom gravy is a hearty dish made from ground beef patties served with a rich mushroom sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into patties.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Cook the patties until browned on both sides. Remove from skillet.
- Add mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until soft.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir.
- Slowly add beef broth while stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Return patties to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for 10 minutes.
- Serve warm with gravy over the patties.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- This dish can be frozen for up to three months.
