Ingredients

- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat sugar and oil until combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in buttermilk and vanilla.
- Slowly add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
- Stir in purple food coloring until well combined.
- Divide the batter between the prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool completely before frosting.
