Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 package Oreo cookies

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a bowl, melt the butter and mix in the sugar.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla, stirring until combined.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  7. Add red food coloring and mix well.
  8. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  9. Place Oreo cookies on top of the batter.
  10. Spread the remaining batter over the Oreos.
  11. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  12. Let it cool before cutting into squares.
