Description

Delicious red velvet cookie bars with cream cheese frosting.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  4. Add eggs, vanilla, and red food coloring to the butter mixture.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients.
  6. Fold in white chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the mixture evenly in a greased baking pan.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before frosting.
  10. For frosting, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  11. Spread frosting over cooled cookie bars.
  12. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
  • Use more or less food coloring for desired color.
  • Can substitute chocolate chips for white chocolate.
