Ingredients
- Turkey – 1 whole (12-14 lbs)
- Butter – 1 cup
- Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
- Fresh rosemary – 2 tbsp, chopped
- Fresh thyme – 2 tbsp, chopped
- Salt – 2 tsp
- Pepper – 1 tsp
- Stuffing – 1 box
- Green beans – 1 lb
- Cranberry sauce – 1 can
- Pumpkin pie – 1 (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by cleaning it and patting it dry.
- Mix butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Rub the butter mixture under the skin of the turkey.
- Stuff the turkey with stuffing as desired.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast the turkey for about 3 hours, removing the foil in the last 30 minutes for browning.
- While the turkey is roasting, steam green beans until tender.
- Heat cranberry sauce in a small pot.
- Serve with pumpkin pie for dessert.
Notes
- Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
- Adjust cooking time based on turkey size.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the turkey is cooked to 165°F (74°C).
