Delicious Puerto Rican turkey recipe for Thanksgiving.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons adobo seasoning
- 2 tablespoons sofrito
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 onions, quartered
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Rinse the turkey and pat dry.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, adobo, sofrito, orange juice, salt, and pepper.
- Rub the mixture all over the turkey, including under the skin.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and add the vegetables around it.
- Pour chicken broth into the pan.
- Cover the turkey with foil and roast for 2 hours.
- Remove foil and roast for an additional 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the turkey overnight.
- Serve with rice and beans for a traditional Puerto Rican meal.
- Use the drippings to make gravy.
