- 1 prime rib roast (5–7 pounds)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Mix garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme in a bowl.
- Rub the mixture over the entire surface of the prime rib roast.
- Place the roast in a roasting pan with the bone side down.
- Roast for 20 minutes at 450°F, then reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C).
- Continue cooking for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.

- Use a meat thermometer for best results.
