- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, and thyme in a bowl.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the prime rib roast.
- Place the roast in a roasting pan, bone side down.
- Roast for 20 minutes, then reduce temperature to 325°F (163°C).
- Continue roasting until internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
- Remove from oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
