Ingredients
- Jalapeños: 10 large
- Breakfast sausage: 1 lb (450 g)
- Cream cheese: 8 oz (225 g), softened
- Bacon: 10 slices
- Barbecue sauce: 1/2 cup (120 ml)
- Optional spices: garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika
- Optional cheese: shredded cheddar or pepper jack
- Optional hot sauce: to taste
- Optional herbs: chives or cilantro
- Optional different peppers: poblano or serrano
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or smoker to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove seeds and membranes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and breakfast sausage, mixing well.
- Fill each jalapeño half with the cream cheese and sausage mixture.
- Wrap each filled jalapeño with half a slice of bacon, securing with a toothpick if necessary.
- Place wrapped jalapeños on the grill or smoker and cook for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through.
- Remove from grill, let cool for a few minutes, and serve warm with ranch dressing or barbecue sauce.
