Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a pot and cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes until pink.
  2. Drain and rinse shrimp under cold water.
  3. In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, salt, garlic, red pepper flakes, peppercorns, and bay leaf.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Pour the pickling liquid over the shrimp in a jar.
  6. Let it cool, then seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.
